The wise ancient technic of basket weaving, drew me towards the following project.

The crafting process starts with a flat piece of the work laid down on the ground; it contains the basket’s base and preparation for the walls. Then the user can manually fill in the sides of the object.

“Weaving Template” reverse-engineers the traditional basket weaving craft. It allows a complex 3D object to be formed by the hands of an amateur, equipped with a flat cut sheet.

The procedure starts with a volumetric CAD model, transforms it into a flat template, then moves to fabrication, and finalizes with construction.
